IN THE HOSPITAL
The Boston Red Sox are in town and we want to see them play the White Sox. Joe really wants to go, but Father Rich is out of town so I am going to have to ask the accountant friend of Mrs. Murphy if he will get me tickets. I went over to Mrs. Murphy’s place and she seemed agitated. I told her about my friend, Donna, being beaten by someone when she was cleaning out a closet for an old woman. She was upset. “It seems that old people are prey to all sorts of things these days.” Since Donna was in the hospital, I thought I would give her the tazer to protect her from any theft at her place. After all, she lived alone. I then asked her if I could pester her friend, the accountant, for tickets to the Red Sox game. I told her my boyfriend really wanted to see the two Sox teams go at it. She made a call in another room and said that it was okay to go over there. This time, she had a box of tax records I had to bring. She said her late husband was an accountant. I took the heavy box and brought it over to the accountant’s office. He gave me the tickets but I still marveled at how much he reminded me of someone. I just wasn’t sure, who. After getting my writing done, I decided to relax and treat myself to my favorite movie, “Tombstone.”
