BAKING COOKIES

My neighbor brought her nieces over so we could all bake cookies for their school bake sale.  They are very polite kids, and have been taught to be thoughtful of other people.  The little girls are six and seven.  They came over after school with their aunt, who left work early to pick them up.  They were all rosy cheeked and happy.  They hung up their jackets without being asked.  One had on a Lakers cap and the other had a Cleveland Cavaliers logo on her bookbag.  I wonder if they are big sports fans at such a young age, of if it is their parents who bought the cap and bookbag for them.  I know one of them has a brother who is a big Lakers fan, and that’s because of his Dad.  We had a great time making cookies and tried not to eat them all.  I learned a lot about the little ones by listening to them interact while we were making the cookie dough.  One wanted to be sure we were using only natural ingredients because she feels people should start young taking care of their health.  She knows this is true because her Grandmother told her so.
